Call for Entries Now Open — BRÜCKEREI #3


We are happy to announce that the Call for Entries for BRÜCKEREI #3 is now open.

The third edition of BRÜCKEREI will take place 06–18 July 2026 under the mentorship of Thomas Hauert — Swiss award-winning performer, choreographer, and teacher.

Focus 2026

This year’s edition will center on improvisation as a mode of creation and performance. The process will emphasize collective research, compositional tools, and real-time decision-making.
Sketches from the research will be shared with the public during an informal showing on 18 July 2026.

Who we are looking for

For this edition, we invite applications from:

  • 3 choreographers (1 local, 1 national, 1 international)
  • 12 Swiss-based professional dancers
  • 12 local residents (Canton Zürich)
    Passionate about dance, with no professional background required

BRÜCKEREI #3 brings together professional artists and engaged amateurs in a shared space of exploration, exchange, and experimentation.

Conditions to apply

We welcome applications from choreographers at any stage of their career, regardless of background, gender, or age. However, you must be:

  • Fully available between 06-18.07.2026
  • Keen to collaborate with people of diverse dance abilities and experience
  • Comfortable working with improvisation as a choreographic tool
  • Hungry to immerse yourself in a process-oriented, creative research under the guidance of a mentor

Condition to apply

Professional dancers of all styles living in Switzerland are welcome to apply. There is no restriction of age, gender or level of experience.

However, you must:

  • Be comfortable working with improvisation as a choreographic tool
  • Be motivated to collaborate closely with choreographers to inspire and support their vision
  • Be interested in being part of a creative encounter with people of diverse dance abilities, backgrounds and experiences
  • Be legally based in Switzerland
  • Have completed a professional dance training
  • Be fully available from 06-18.07.2026

    You don’t need any prior dance skills to join. We welcome anyone who:

    • Lives in the canton of Zürich
    • Enjoys improvising with movement and is curious to experiment
    • Is keen to collaborate and explore creative ideas with others
    • Is up for an intensive physical challenge with many hours of movement research
    • Is available from 06-18.07.2026
